Psalm 41:1-2

Psalm 41:1-2

1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

God blesses those who think about, consider and help the poor. There are many ways to help the poor. Some examples are,

1. Supporting financially organizations and groups that help the poor

2. Volunteering at a homeless shelter

3. Giving food to the homeless

4. Thinking about ways to help the poor

5. Talking to the poor about Jesus

Some of the benefits of helping the poor are:

1. God will deliver you and rescue you out of trouble

2. The Lord will protect, preserve, watch over you and keep you

3. The Lord will give you long life

4. The Lord will prosper you and you will be blessed upon the earth

5. God will not allow your enemies to destroy you

6. The Lord will strengthen you and restore you to health when you are sick

One of the most important things to do as a Christian is to help the poor. As you consider the poor, God will bless and prosper you in everything you do.

11/26/22

3 John 1:2

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

1. That we prosper and succeed in everything we do.

2. We have good health.

3. We live a happy and peaceful life.

I pray that you succeed in every aspect of your life in Jesus name.

Romans 15:4

Hope is very important because without hope, there is despair, discouragement, hopelessness, depression and sadness. Without hope, there is no expectation that things would get better in the future. Hopelessness makes the heart sick.

Since hope is so important, we all need it. How do we get hope? We get hope from the bible, the Word of God. The bible is our only source of hope and is an anchor for the soul. It secures our mind and assures our mind that things are going to be ok.

This means that the more we study God’s Word and understand it, the more hope we get. The entrance of God’s Word gives light, which shines in the darkness and dispels every hopelessness and darkness we experience. We then receive confidence that God’s Word is for us and are expectant of the blessings and promises of God.

Anytime we feel sad, discouraged or depressed, we must get into God’s Word which will drive away hopelessness, depression, despair, discouragement, disillusionment and sadness. Then we can seal our joy and hope with worship music which glorifies Jesus.

4/5/21

John 15:7

John 15:7 -“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

Jesus promises to give us the things we ask Him for if we are able to fulfill 2 conditions.

The first condition is that we abide in Him. To abide in Him means to remain in Him. To remain in Jesus Christ is to continue in Him, to be committed to Him, to be established in Him and to be established in His church. The church is important in this because Jesus is the head of the Church and the Savior of the body. Since Jesus is the head of the Church, the more committed we are to Him, the more committed we will be to His Church.

The second condition is that Jesus Words should remain in us. The Word of God must be in our minds and in our hearts. We must meditate on the Word of God day and night. Taking a few verses with us throughout the day and thinking about them throughout the day will take us a long way. As we continue to read and study God’s Word, His Words will remain in us. Then when we pray, we will be able to back our prayers with God’s Word and will have a solid foundation to stand upon

Jesus promises that if we fulfill these 2 conditions, anything we ask God for in His Name, God will give it to us. Then we will be guaranteed 100% answered prayer and results when we pray.

3/24/21

Matthew 7:7-8

Matt 7:7-8″ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Jesus is telling us that if we ask God for anything, He will give it to us. If Jesus said this, why is it that many Christians do not get the things they ask God for all the time? Jesus also said that if we seek we will find, if we knock it shall be opened. In spite of this, there are many Christians asking, seeking, and knocking and are not getting what they want.

The answer to getting what we need is in the verse. The word “ask” means ask and keep on asking. The word “seek” means seek and keep on seeking. The word “knock” means to knock and keep on knocking.

Jesus actually told us to ask and keep on asking, yet many Christians ask up to a point and then give up. They stop praying about the things they were asking God for, believing that God does not want to give it to them. Yes, it’s very easy to give up, but what if we just needed to pray 2 or 3 more times?

Jesus is encouraging us to keep on asking and never give up on what we are asking God for. We should never give up on what we are seeking and never stop knocking. Jesus is the Truth and His Word can never fail. Because Jesus said it, that settles it. Once what we need is in the bible and in line with God’s will, we have a sure and solid foundation for faith and answered prayer. All things are possible with God. He has promised and will never fail.

3/12/21

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

As born again Christians, we have a new nature in Christ Jesus. This makes us a new creation in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit takes away the old sinful nature ( or spirit ) and gives us a brand new righteous and truly holy spirit (or nature). This new nature has been born again into the kingdom of God. So the old person, or old spirit or old nature is gone and past and everything is now new. This means that the old life, old struggles, old difficulties, old failures and old addictions are passed away and we have a new life in Jesus Christ.

In-spite of this, many still struggle with most of the things they used to struggle with before becoming born again. The way to make all things new is to have a renewed mind. Our spirit is perfect, but our body and mind is still the same. We need to renew our mind and attitude to conform to God’s Word, which our spirit craves for. This will help us to think and behave the way God expects us to. Then we will be able to live the new life in Jesus Christ. The abundant life, the life of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. A life of victory, blessings, opportunities and service to God.

3/1/21

1 Peter 2:2

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

We are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. When we become born again Christians our spirit is born again, but our body and soul remain the same. God removes our old sinful spirit or nature and puts in a brand new nature. We then become a new creation and therefore a new born baby in Jesus Christ. The real you, which is your spirit is what the bible calls the “inner man” or “the inward man” or the “hidden man of the heart”. This inward man or spirit must grow.

Even though our body and our soul have developed or are developing, our spirit must grow from the infant stage to become mature. In the same way our physical bodies need food and water to grow, our spirits need the Word of God to grow. If we do not eat the spiritual food of God’s Word, we become malnourished weak baby Christian’s who are still infants.

As new born babies in Jesus Christ, we must desire the spiritual food of the Word of God so that we can grow. When we read the bible daily, we would grow up in Christ Jesus and become strong mature Christian’s.

1/29/21

Ephesians 2:10

We are God’s masterpiece, His outstanding workmanship and the best of all His creation. Our purpose in life is to do the good works which God prepared for us in advance. Each and every one of us were created with certain specific good works to do. When we do these good works, we would be great in God’s sight, will reach our full potential, fulfill our purpose in life and be all God created us to be.

How can we know what these good works are so that we do them? God has promised to direct us and to direct our paths. What we can do is to be devoted to God and draw near to Him through His Word, prayer, acts of love and service through the church, outreaches, etc. When we do these things God promises to also draw near to us. Then He will be able to guide us to do the good works and to fulfill our destiny and purpose in life.

1/28/21

Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

To wait upon the Lord is to hope in the Lord, tarry, look patiently, wait for, on or upon. This means that to wait on the Lord is to spend time in His presence in prayer and the Word of God seeking God’s face, strength and direction. It means to wait patiently for God to act on your behalf.

As we wait on the Lord, God will increase our endurance, hope and strength. God will give us the strength and ability to overcome everything that comes our way and to always stand strong on top. May we have the victory in every circumstance and excel in everything we do in Jesus Name.

1/27/21

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

May God direct and make straight out paths from the year 2021. Since God has only good plans for us and plans to prosper and bless us, we must allow Him to direct our path. When God is directing our path, no matter what happens, God will ensure that we only do, go to and experience only the things He wants us to.

God has promised to direct, make straight our paths and therefore guarantee our success, blessings and the best outcome for our lives if we do the following;
1. Trust Him with all our hearts. This means having full faith, confidence and trust in God’s Word, ability and desire to bring about the greatest good in our lives.
2. Lean not on our own understanding. This means that we do not rely on what we know and what is happening in our lives. We do not rely on our senses. We must only rely on God’s word, God’s promises, God’s desire and ability to bring about our maximum good.
3. In all our ways we must acknowledge Him. This means that we must know, acknowledge and be acquainted with Him in everything, every decision, every way and journey. We must and pray to God about everything, everything we do and everywhere we go, no matter how big, little or small.

God has good plans for us

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

God is telling us that He has great and awesome plans for us. He doesn’t have any thoughts against us. Some people feel that God wants to either punish them or give them a miserable life. That is not true. God loves us so much that He only thinks about us in favorable ways. The bible says in 1 Cor 2:9 that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. We must be confident that Gods plans for us are for peace, a wonderful hope and future.

The bible says in Rom 8:31, that if God is for us, who can be against us? If God did not spare His Son for us, why would God not with us in His Son as Christians freely give us all things? So let us trust in God and ask Him for the things we need since He knows what we need before we need them.

We must always remember that God is willing to bless us and He is able to bless us. He only has good plans for us and not plans to harm us. He wants to give us abundant life to the fullest.

4/20/21

Overcoming fear

2 Timothy 1:7 -For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of a sound mind. This verse is telling us that fear is not from God, but is an evil spirit. If we allow fear to control or influence us, we are allowing an evil spirit to control or influence us. The devil will only lead people to the wrong destination of trouble, disaster, missed opportunities and failure. So anytime we fear, we give the devil access into our lives to cause trouble in our lives. This is why Job said in (Job 3:25) that the thing he had always feared had happened to him. You will see from the bible that whenever God sent an angel to people and they were afraid, the angel would always say, “fear not”. When Jesus disciples wear afraid, He always told them not to fear.

God has given us the spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Anytime fear is present, power to proceed, power to act, power to do what we need to do is absent. Also, fear removes love since you cannot have fear and love at the same time. The bible says in 1 John 4:18 that perfect love casts out fear because fear has torment. Many are afraid of punishment and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. Fear torments you and puts you in a cage. Job said that the thing he had greatly feared had come upon him. Fear has a way of bringing negative things into peoples lives. Faith is having confidence in God and in His ability. Fear is having strong belief in what the devil can do to you or a belief that things will not go well. In the presence of fear, sound mind is taken away since there is no peace of mind. Fear torments and puts a lot of stress on people.

The bible says in Heb 2:14-15 that, “Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. This verse is saying that Jesus had to become human to be able to die and then break the devil’s power of death. By doing this, Jesus was able to deliver all Christians who were in the past, afraid of death and therefore were slaves to fear.

We must decide not to fear anything, including the corona-virus, but rather, rebuke and bind the spirit of fear in the Name of Jesus. As we walk in faith all impossibilities would be made possible and God would protect us from every evil.

Why did Jesus have to die?

This is a question that has been asked by many Christians including myself. Why did Jesus need to die? Jesus needed to die to save the whole world from sin and hell.

God said that the person or soul that sins must die. In Romans 6:23, the bible says that the wages or penalty sin is death. This death is not only physical death, but spiritual death of total separation from God in hell. We know from the bible that there is no one who is righteous, not even one. All mankind has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All we need to do is to look at our lives and we will see how sinful we are. This means that all mankind is supposed to die and go to hell. If we are honest with ourselves, we will all agree that we deserve to die and go to hell because of our sins. Everyone is doomed to die and burn in hell for all eternity.

Because of God’s love for mankind, God made a provision for us in Jesus Christ, the seed of the woman. The bible says that Jesus Christ the Lamb of God was slain before the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8). For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Now how was God going to do this and solve this problem of His love creation perishing?

The bible says that a life can be given in exchange for another life, or a life can die for a condemned life to live. Meaning that God would accept the death of a life in exchange for the life of the person who had sinned and was supposed to die. God used the life of bulls and goats to substitute for the precious life of a person. God also said that the life of the flesh or soul is in the blood and the blood has been given to make atonement or purification for sin. The life source of a soul is its blood. For God to really accept the life of a living creature in exchange for the life of the person who was to die, it needed to be from the life source of the creature, which is its blood. So, God accepted the blood of bulls and goats in exchange for the life of sinful mankind. By this, God was able to save mankind who was so important to Him. The blood sacrifice was enough to atone or appease God for the sins of the people. This was done once a year on the Day of Atonement, where the blood of bulls and goats were sacrificed for the sins of the people and the scapegoat carried the sins of the people. Jesus bare our sins in His own body on the tree

God could not relate with mankind because of his sins, so the blood of the sacrificed animals was given to atone or appease God. But this sacrifice was just a foreshadow of the real sacrifice of Jesus which was to come. It was inferior because it did not take away the sins of the people, it only covered their sins and made it possible for God to relate with them. This sacrificial system was getting the world ready for Jesus to come and to offer Himself and His blood for us. God sent Jesus as our High Priest with the Melchizedek Priesthood which was far superior to the Aaronic priesthood. Jesus was sent to be the substitutionary sacrifice once and for all for the sins of the whole world. The just was sacrificed and slain for the unjust so that the unjust could be saved. Jesus Christ our God willingly gave Himself to be slain for us with His precious blood which is so strong that it is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through Him. We were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb without blemish or spot (1 Pet 1:18).

Jesus died on the cross with His blood shed to save us from our sins, from hell, to redeem us from the curse of the law, to heal us, to give us life and to return us back to God. Jesus fulfilled God’s righteous requirements of the law for us since we were not able to. Now anyone who believes in and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord, His death on the cross, His shed blood, and His resurrection from the dead is saved. When God sees the Christian who has faith in Jesus Christ, He sees a righteous person. By faith, Jesus’s righteousness is credited to us as a free gift (Romans 10:9-10).

Why didn’t God send an angel or a very good person to die for the sins of the whole world? First of all, there is no man who could fulfill this role since all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The sacrificial lamb needed to be sinless, strong, perfect and without blame or spot. An angel’s blood was inferior and would not have qualified for the sacrifice. It needed to be God’s own blood. It took the blood of God to purchase us (Acts 20:28).

God wanted to prove and demonstrate His love for us by dying personally on the cross for our sins. Jesus told us that He willingly gave up His life for us and He had the power to bring Himself back to life. He is our High Priest whose blood was shed and then offered it up to God for us once and for all. So He did this to demonstrate God’s love for us. For God demonstrated His love toward us in that whilst we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8). What manner of love God our Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God. (1 John 3:1)

Supporting verses

1. The soul that sins must die.

The bible says in Ezekiel 18:20 that the soul that sins must die. Ezekiel 18:21-25 says that because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die. The bible also says in Rom 6:23 that the wages of sin is death.

2. There is none righteous, no, not one. All have sinned.

James 2:10 says that if we break one law, we are guilty of breaking the whole law. In Rom 3:10-12, PS 14:1-3, PS 53:1-3, the bible say that there is none righteous, no, not one. Rom 3:19-23 says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God- By the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

3. A life can be substituted for another life.

In Deut 19:21, the bible says life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.

4. The life of the body is in the blood and has been given to make atonement.

In Lev 17:11, the bible says that the life of the soul is in the blood and the blood has been given to me by atonement for the soul. Hebrews 9:22 says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission. Also, Lev 17:11-14 says do not eat anything with blood because the life of all flesh is the blood.

5. The blood of bulls & goats plus the scapegoat was sacrificed once a year on the day of Atonement.

Lev 16:1-34, 2 Cor 5:21, Heb 9:11-14, Heb 13:12, Heb 10:4-23, Rom 8:3-5, Rom 4:1-9, Rom 4:23-24, Rom 10:4

Jesus said in John 3:3 that except a person is born again, they cannot see the kingdom of God. This is because we were born into the kingdom of this world and into sin. For us to see the Kingdom of Heaven, we must repent of our sins and be born again into the Kingdom of Heaven. To repent means to turn away from your sins in your heart and in your mind. The kingdom of God is where we have to put on the new man, created to be like God in righteousness and true holiness.

In Romans 10:9-10, the Bible says that if we confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe with our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. This is because we are made righteous or right with God by having faith in Jesus Christ and then we are saved when we confess what we believe about Jesus with our mouths.

We must believe that Jesus shed His blood on the cross for our
sins and that God raised Him from the dead after the third day. Now if you want
to be saved, you can read aloud and confess by faith the prayer below:

“Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for
my sins. I believe that His blood was shed for my sins. I believe that God
raised Him from the dead on the third day. Lord Jesus, please come into my
heart and come into my life. Please be the Lord of my life. Forgive me for all
my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. From today, I belong to Jesus
Christ. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
